How long does an STI Test appointment take?

Most appointments take around 10 to 15 minutes. If you have any questions about STIs then please call our team who are available 24/7.

Do I need a referral letter from my doctor?

No referral letter is needed. As your private provider of testing, we manage everything that you need for the test from the appointment, testing, and results reporting. We are here to help you as efficiently as we can.

Do I need to fast or follow and special instructions before my test?

There are no fasting requirements before your tests. If you have a urine test, please try not to use the loo for two hours before your test.

What is the cost of the doctor consultation?

Doctors' consultations are included in the cost of your test. These may be delivered in person or remotely.

Can payment be made at the clinic or on arrival?

All appointments must be booked and paid for in advance. We are sorry that we do not take payments at the clinic. You can pay by Mastercard, Visa, AMEX or by bank transfer.

What does the Blemish Screen test for?

The Blemish Screen tests for:

Syphilis
Herpes I/II (Current Infection)

These are the most common sexually transmitted caused by warts, bumps, and blisters in the genital region. You can choose to include other STIs with this screen at our reduced, bolt-on price.

What will happen at my appointment?

Your clinician will welcome you to your private appointment and collect your swab samples. They will need to collect two swab samples of the affected area. These will then be sent to our accredited laboratory to see if your blemish is caused by a Syphilis orHerpes infection.

How will I get my results?

Your results will be available in our secure, online area as soon as they are returned by the laboratory and have been reviewed by our results team. Results are uploaded to the patient area 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We will also contact you by email or SMS once all your results are ready. If you prefer, a member of our sexual health advisory team will also call you to discuss your results in detail.

What if my results reveal that I have an STI?

If you test positive, do not panic. We are here to help you. Your Better2Know doctor can help you access the right treatment.

Herpes can be managed by creams and antiviral medications if you have persistent and painful outbreaks.
Syphilis is curable with antibiotics.
